KARIMNAGAR: Minister for Endowments J. Ratnakara Rao has said that the government is implementing welfare schemes for the benefit of farmers.

Participating as the chief guest at ‘Rythu chaitanya sadassus’ at Rajarampalli village of Peddapalli division on Friday, he said the government was providing free power and seed and fertilizers on subsidy to farmers and also executing several pending irrigation projects to permanently remove drought from the district.

Collector Sandeep Kumar Sultania said that they were educating the farmers on the crops to be cultivated during the season and other technical aspects to get better yield. Joint Director (Agriculture) M. Ramesh, JD (Animal Husbandry) Suresh Kumar, Assistant Director (Horticulture) Venkateshwarlu, agricultural scientists and others participated.

Government Whip D. Sridhar Babu participated as the chief guest at the first convention held at Kataram village of Manthani division on Thursday. The ‘sadassus’ would be held up to Sunday in all the revenue divisions.
