State Minister for Roads and Buildings has said that houses are being provided to the poor under the Indiramma housing scheme.
The Minister, who participated in the Rachabanda programme held on the Kalla Z.P. High School premises of Undi Assembly segment, said that the government was implementing various schemes for the benefit of weaker sections. The government waived farm loans to the tune of Rs. 14,500 crore in the State.
Listing the other welfare programmes such as Re. 1-a-kg rice scheme, Mr. Prasada Rao, who is also the district in-charge Minister, said that under the Rajiv Yuva Kiranalu scheme, jobs were being proved to the eligible youth. Vetukuri Siva Rama Raju, MLA of Undi, presided. He urged Mr. Prasada Rao to get required funds sanctioned for improving drinking water facility to the hamlets of Undi Assembly constituency. He also underlined the need for expediting the delta modernisation works.
Mr. Prasada Rao distributed house-site pattas and pensions to the poor people.
