WARANGAL: Tribal Welfare Minister D. S. Redya Naik expressed his unhappiness over the bankers for not fulfilling the targets disbursing loans under various schemes.
Addressing the review meeting of bankers here on Tuesday, the Minister said at the field level the officials were not forthcoming in distributing money to the farmers and beneficiaries of government welfare programmes. During the kharif, the bankers were supposed to disburse loans to the tune of Rs. 500 crore but only distributed Rs. 301 crore and the rabi season had already started. The rate of disbursement was only 60 per cent while it is very low in other categories such as bank linkages to SHGs, bridge loans to housing scheme beneficiaries and other welfare schemes, the Minister said.
