Minister for Minor Irrigation T.G. Venkatesh said the State bifurcation would stop if the TDP and YSRC issue letters stating their altered stand in favour of Samaikyandhra.
Talking to the reporters here on Wednesday, he said he would take the responsibility of convincing the Congress Working Committee to change its policy if the two major parties declared their objection to the bifurcation.
He said the problem had cropped up because of the dubious stand of the parties.
Mr. Venkatesh hailed the Joint Action Committee of employees saying that the future generations would remember their sacrifices.
Because of their tough stand, the parties were exposed. The people were with the employees’ associations and were no longer with the parties.
Mr. Venkatesh said the power supply was ensured in Telangana region during the general strike by the power stations in Seemandhra. Even now, the supply was ensured to Telangana region, though Seemandhra plunged into darkness.
According to him, 600 MW power from the central grid was transferred to Telangana.
Mr. Venkatesh said certain parties were trying to isolate Rayalaseema Hakkula Ikya Vedika by not allowing the supporters of the latter to join the movement. One should note the groundwork done by the organisation in the last ten years.
Mr. Venkatesh criticised the former DGP Dinesh Reddy for his remarks against the Chief Minister and the government saying it was unbecoming of an officer of his stature to speak about controversial issues after stepping down.
He was ignoring the fact that he was party to the decisions taken by the government.
He should have retired as an upright officer rather than going down in the history as a controversial officer.
