VIJAYAWADA: The Andhra Pradesh Dairy Development Cooperative Federation in a statement on Wednesday said the Krishna Milk Union was free to use Vijaya brand for milk and milk products manufactured by it, provided it registered with the federation as per the provisions of the Andhra Pradesh Mutually Aided Cooperative Societies (APMACS) Act, 1995.
The federation’s regional sales manager issued a statement asserting that the Government had no ‘mala fide’ intentions towards milk unions. He said the matter was sub judice. The APDDCF, the official said, was supplying milk to consumers at a price that was a rupee less and the federation was paying to milk producers Rs.5 more per kg of fat.
The Bhimadole plant was delinked from the Krishna union as part of the Godavari dairy revival plan. Krishna union was not paying the federation any lease for Bhimadole. Krishna union had even stopped supplying feed to the producers in a malicious manner. The federation said the tie-ups with private dairies were temporary.
