HYDERABAD: Several delegates who arrived at the University of Hyderabad campus at Gachibowli for an international conference organised by the C.R. Rao Advanced Institute of Mathematics, Statistics and Computer Sciences had tough time reaching the venue due to the bandh call given in support of Telangana on Wednesday.

A group of students supporting the separate Telangana cause closed the university gates on Wednesday morning giving anxious moments to the authorities and the police teams present there. With the entrances closed and the university students refusing to open them, the delegates were stranded for quite some time.

The vehicles of chief guest for the conference C. Rangarajan, Chairman, Prime Minister’s Economic Advisory Council and university officials were also stopped for sometime before they could get into the campus.
