Representatives of a micro-finance institution PARTNER took the help of Kadapa police and stormed the houses of Dalits at Saipet in Kadapa on Friday and threatened them with dire consequences if they did not repay the loans taken by them, Communist Party of India (Marxist) leader B. Manohar alleged.

Mr. Manohar alleged in a statement that some Dalit women were directed by the police to appear in the police station.

Against stipulation

He accused PARTNER representatives of acting against the government stipulation and threatening to take away household goods if they did not repay loans.

The CPI(M) leader warned of an agitation by the party activists if micro-finance institutions resume threats to poor loanees.
