A 40-year-old electrician died after a speeding Mercedes car rammed his motorcycle at Shivam Road in Amberpet on Saturday midnight.

Police said the victim, Satyanarayana of New Nallakunta, was accompanied by two of his friends — Suresh and Sairaj — when the car hit them resulting in injuries.

Police rushed the trio to a hospital in Malakpet where Satyanarayana died later while undergoing treatment. Suresh and Sairaj were recuperating, said Amberpet SI T. Murali Krishna. The car driver, Varun Yadav, had been arrested and a case booked against him.

ORR mishap claims life

In a separate case, a 35-year-old woman Kumari died after an unidentified car hit her on Outer Ring Road (ORR) at Manchirevula village under Narsingi police station limits on Saturday night. Police said Kumari and her husband Surender were returning from their native village in Krishna district.

They were crossing the road when the car crashed into them.

Kumari died on the spot while Surender sustained minor injuries, police said.
