ANANTAPUR: A two-day duty meet of the district police concluded in the Manneela firing range near Sri Krishnadevaraya University here on Tuesday. The meet showcased the talent of the police personnel in different disciplines.

Speaking at the duty meet Superintendent of Police M.K. Singh stated that such events would provide an opportunity to the police, who otherwise would be engaged with their duties round the year, to bring out their talent and capacities in different disciplines. It would help test their talent, he said. Police personnel from all sub-divisions in the district including the armed reserve wing participated in the duty meet. Each sub-division was represented by an Inspector, two Sub-Inspector and eight constables. Those who excel at the district-level meet would be chosen for Range-level and State-level meets respectively. Firing contests were conducted in the weapon categories of pistol, .9 mm revolver, carbine, SLR and 303 rifle.
