GVMC will hold meetings with various stake-holders to elicit their views on the revision of the City Development Plan.

The revised CDP is being prepared by a team from Centre for Environmental Planning Technology (CEPT) University, Ahmedabad, with the financial support of Cities Development Initiative Asia.

The first meeting will be held on December 12 with academics from various educational institutions and members from professionals like engineers, architects, financial consultant and other eminent personalities at the Old Council Hall of GVMC.

On December 13, an exclusive joint session will be organised with officials of Visakhapatnam Urban Development Authority at the Vice-Chairman’s Office in the evening and in the afternoon with officials of various State and Central Government departments, including the port trust, the Railways, the Navy, Traffic, Transportation, APPCB, NHAI and APIIC, among others at the Old Council Hall.

On the morning of December 14, various NGOs, SHGs and other citizen groups would be involved in the exercise and in the afternoon members of the Journalists’ Forum and the Press would give their views.

Municipal Commissioner M.V. Satyanarayana appealed to members of various citizen groups to participate in the meetings and give their views which would be considered for use within the government norms and guidelines.
