Federation of Drug Traders Association of Andhra Pradesh (FDTA) has announced that medical shops bandh will be observed on Friday in response to a nationwide call.

Addressing a press conference here on Wednesday, Balabhadra Venkataraju, president, East Godavari Drug Traders Association, said the bandh call was given to seek solution to four demands. As per National Pharmaceutical Pricing Policy, drug price control order has been invoked this year, under which the wholesale and retail margins on drugs were reduced from 10, 20 percents respectively. Chalapathi, secretary of the association, said three medical shops each in Kakinada and Rajahmundry and 2 in Amalapuram will be opened for emergency purposes on Friday and in all other mandal headquarters one shop will remain open.
