TRS indulging in blackmail politics: Jayaprakash

In protest against the statement made by Chief Minister Kiran Kumar Reddy at Sangareddy on April 29 that the land lease to Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Limited (RINL) at Bayyaram would not be cancelled which provoked the Telangana Rashtra Samiti (TRS), TRS president K. Chandrasekhar Rao gave a call for Medak bandh on May 3.

However, one has to wait and see till Friday evening on whether the bandh will be a success or not as the Government Whip and Sangareddy Legislator T. Jayaprakash Reddy has openly said that they would not allow the bandh to be enforced. He has also instructed the party workers to discourage the people from participate in the bandh.

Speaking to reporters here on Thursday, Mr. Jayaprakash Reddy alleged that the TRS had been playing blackmailing politics. The TRS leaders have entrusted the job of observing bandh to constituency in-charge leaders. “We have asked the constituency leaders to make arrangements to observe the bandh. No special efforts are put in place except urging the people to participate in the bandh voluntarily”, said a TRS leader on condition of anonymity.
