Andhra Pradesh Handicrafts Development Corporation Managing Director Shailaja Ayyannar has said that they are taking measures to encourage the ancient art of making handicrafts through silver filigree.

Speaking after inaugurating the Chandana silver filigree handicrafts showroom in Karimnagar town on Monday, she said that they were providing specialised training to the artistes designing various artefacts through silver filigree to produce value added products to meet the demand in the market.

She also said the sale of silver filigree products would be encouraged by conducting exhibitions through Lepakshi. Collector Smita Sabharwal, DRDA project director J. Shankaraiah, Municipal Commissioner M. Vanaja Devi and others were also present.
