VISAKHAPATNAM: Mayor Pulusu Janardhana Rao has withdrawn his resignation following the positive response from the Union Government to the agitation for integrated Andhra Pradesh.

He and the 27 Congress and nine independent corporators and six co-option members are withdrawing resignation sent to the party leadership welcoming the statement made by the Union Government. Following the direction of the party high command the resignations were being withdrawn to resume normal functioning and work, Mr. Janardhana Rao said in a statement here on Monday.

TDP floor leader Nalluri Bhaskara Rao said as the object had been achieved, it was decided, in principle, to withdraw the resignations of the 33 TDP corporators.
