The sixth phase of free mass marriages of Hindu couples in all the 10 Assembly constituencies in Kadapa district will be held between 9.52 a.m. and 10.04 a.m. on May 20, Joint Collector K. Nirmala has said.

Application forms were available with all the Tahsildars and those interested can register their names with Tahsildars by May 18, she said in a statement.

The brides would be given gold ‘mangalasutram' and silver ‘mettelu' and bridegrooms would be presented new clothes and marriage ‘kankanam', besides a book signifying the importance of marriage.

Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams will arrange for priests and ‘mangala vaidyam' and host a lunch for 60 persons of each couple's families, she stated.

One hundred and forty marriages were performed in the last phase. Thirty four applications were received so far including 15 in Proddatur, seven in Kodur, eight in Yerraguntla, and two each in Mydukur and Vontimitta.
