Threatens disciplinary action if they fail to change their working style

Engineers yet to submit layouts to develop market yardsThe officials were asked to submit them six months agoCommissioner seeks officials' cooperation to modernise the market yards

HYDERABAD: Marketing Commissioner D. Srinivasulu on Tuesday warned engineers in the department of disciplinary action if they did not change their style of working within a month.

The warning was with reference to a six month-old directive to engineers asking for layouts to develop market yards and secure permission from town planning officials. The department would not hesitate to take action if they did not contribute to modernisation and provision of additional infrastructure at the yards.

Towards better facilities

Mr. Srinivasulu was reviewing implementation of 25 per cent subsidised Central scheme for basic facilities at 23 market yards in the State with chairmen of market committees and engineers in districts.

He said the department was impressing upon engineers the past six months, the need to be efficient keeping in view the interests of farmers.
