‘Current rules have limited it to elections'

The Congress government has turned party manifesto into a farce by just limiting it to elections and not caring to fulfilling them, former Kadapa MP Y.S. Jaganmohan Reddy has said.

While the former Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy had given a 5-year ‘golden rule' to the people of the Andhra Pradesh through implementation of a manifesto prepared before elections, the current rulers had limited the ‘manifesto' to just elections, Mr. Jagan alleged while addressing a massive public meeting at Kothakota in Ravikamatham mandal as part of his ‘Odarpu Yatra'.

Large number of women and youth attended the meeting, which turned out to be the best of the day with people cheering the former CM's son every time he mentioned YSR's name.

“Statues being installed at every corner of the village showed the people's love and faith in YSR and his schemes,” Mr. Reddy said.

“People now plead the almighty to send another Chief Minister who could give a golden rule like that of YSR,” Mr. Reddy said.

He later consoled the family members of M. Narayana Murthy, who had lost his life out of shock after YSR's death in September 2009. Former Commercial Taxes Minister Konathala Ramakrishna and Anakapalle MP Sabbam Hari were present during the ‘Odarpu Yatra' on the fourth day at Rajam, Ravikamatham, Rolugunta and finally reaching Narsipatnam for a night halt.
