Former director of Standard Chartered Bank Arun Madhavan on Saturday said managing energy and time largely depended on inner consciousness of individuals on that impact on external behaviour.

He was speaking at a lecture organised by Human Resource Development wing of Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Limited on ‘Manage your energy, not time' at Ukkunagaram.

Mr. Madhavan, founder-trustee of Vyakthi Vikas Kendra, an organisation of Art of Living promoted by Sri Pandit Ravi Sankar said people turned most creative and innovative when their energies were boosted. He said that mind holds the key to creativity and innovation. Mr. Madhavan observed that managing energy was nothing but showing love and appreciation on others which ultimately led to good health. Breathing techniques, singing and meditation help people energise, he said.

He mentioned that time was a mutual concept created by the movement of senses, the celestial objects and perceptions. “It is part of illusion in which we live and which we take for real,” he said.

He said that leadership paradigm of 20th century believed that motivating workforce was essential to great leadership. The old paradigm of motivation was now shifted as inspiration and the leaders had to stand as role models and inspire people to energise, he added. Earlier, RINL Deputy General Manager (HRD) S.
