A man in his early 30s who married a woman against the wishes of the latter’s family, was brutally hacked to death at Ekondunpet near Etthipothula village in Macherla mandal, in what police believe to be an act of honour killing.
Srinu Naik, who was sleeping at his home, was stabbed several times in his abdomen late on Tuesday night.
Armed with talwars and axes, they entered the house through the roof and stabbed Srinu Naik.
They also inflicted knife wounds on Fathima, Srinu’s wife. Srinu Naik died on the spot and his wife was being treated at GGH, here.
Srinu Naik married Fathima in April much against the wishes of the latter’s parents. Srinu was married to Huni, and has three children. A missing case was also filed by Fathima’s family.
After deserting his first wife, Srinu married Fathima, who is expecting a child.
Deputy Superintendent of Police, Gurazala, R. Giridhar said that a man hunt had been launched to nab the culprits.
