A 37-year-old person was found murdered on the roadside at Falaknuma on Friday morning. Police said that the assailants killed Mohammed Rahim by smashing his head with a sharp-edged weapon elsewhere and dumped the body at Falaknuma. Reasons behind the murder were yet to be ascertained, police said.
Car catches fire
A car parked on Basheerbagh main road caught fire triggering panic among the road users on Friday. A fire-tender rushed to the spot and the flames were doused within a few minutes. Fire-fighters said the flames could have erupted after sparks emanated from nearby garbage bin fell on the car.
Police nabbed a history-sheeter Pathan Ali Khan for allegedly selling ‘ganja’ and seized over 1.50 kilograms ganja from him. He was procuring the contraband from Zaheerabad in Medak district and selling it to needy customers by collecting exorbitant charges, police said. In a separate case, a businessman Brij Raj Singh of Dhoolpet was detained for possessing five kgs ‘ganja’, 200 grams of ‘bhang’ and 200 grams of ‘bhang’ powder.
10 eve-teasers nabbed
As part of a special drive, the task force sleuths have launched a crackdown and nabbed 10 persons for indulging in eve-teasing at Koti and Dilsukhnagar bus stops. The arrested persons were handed over to Sultan Bazaar and Malakpet police stations.
5 held in murder case
The Habeebnagar police on Friday arrested five persons in connection with the murder of a history-sheeter Abbu Ali Khan and seized four weapons, two motorcycles and five cell phones.
