Cyberabad police on Sunday arrested a passenger for allegedly stealing chocolates and other valuables from a shop at the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (RGIA) in Shamshabad.
RGIA Sub-Inspector N. Jairam said Jikerul (38), a medical representative and native of Bangalore, entered the shop before boarding the Hyderabad-Bangalore flight.
He then stole chocolates and a bag containing toothbrush, toothpaste and other articles. He was proceeding to board the plane when shopkeeper realised that a few articles were missing. With the help of security, the shopkeeper caught the passenger and handed him over to the RGIA police after recovering the articles from him.
“We have registered a theft case against the passenger,” the SI explained. He said a few shopkeepers had earlier complained of similar incidents inside the airport.
