Cyberabad police on Sunday detained an airport employee, holding him responsible for the murder of a 19-year-old girl on the terrace of his house at Ameerpet village under Maheswaram police station limits on Saturday night.
Twenty-two-year-old D. Krishna had fallen in love with the girl, his relative and neighbour, two years ago.
They would regularly meet on his terrace. During one such encounter on Saturday night, the duo indulged in sex, upon which the girl began bleeding profusely. She complained of severe headache and collapsed suddenly.
A few minutes later, Krishna realised that the girl had died. Shocked, he dumped it in the bushes near his house. He later wiped the blood stains on the quilt and staircase walls.
The incident came to light after the girl’s family noticed the body and lodged a police complaint alleging that Krishna had raped and later killed the girl.
Police registered a case of murder against Krishna under IPC Section 302 and took him into custody. Senior officials said the reasons for death could be ascertained only after getting the autopsy report.
