ELURU: The city police took into custody a person identified as J. Rambabu, for allegedly creating a scene at the residence of former minister and Praja Rajyam Party leader Kotagiri Vidyadhara Rao at KSR Tota in the city on Monday. According to information, the accused staged a sit-in along with his family members at the PRP leader’s house, demanding justice to his family in a case of arson. The property and house of the accused near Rangapuram in Chintalapudi Assembly segment was ransacked and burnt allegedly by the followers of Mr. Vidyadhara Rao when the latter was a minister as a sequel to the murder of Mr. Rao’s follower. “I have become displaced because of Mr. Vidyadhara Rao. He should do justice to my family by compensating the loss”, he protested. He staged a similar protest at the III-town police station where he was detained. The police action followed a complaint by the PRP leader.

Meanwhile, Mr. Vidyadhara Rao said the charges levelled by the accused against him were baseless while stating that he was a `known’ history-sheeter in the city.
