Transport Minister Botcha Satyanarayana called for making ‘Revenue Sadassulu’, beginning on March 12 in the district, a success. The sadassulu would be conducted more in areas where density of SC/ST population is high.
The minister reviewed, among other issues on Wednesday evening, distribution of land to weaker sections during the last six phases of the sadassulu. So far, 7 lakh acres were distributed. He pulled up Project Director (Housing) for not giving allotment letters to the eligible at S. Kota where 75 houses were sanctioned.
He stressed on need to submit report in the prescribed format on the number of houses allotted, number of houses built and work in progress.
Keeping in view the summer season ahead, he asked Municipal Commissioners of Vizianagaram, Salur, Parvathipuram and Bobbili to take appropriate measures to mitigate water problem.
Vizianagaram Commissioner S. Govinda Swamy informed him that estimates with Rs. 85 lakhs was prepared for water supply.
On construction of shopping complex at Rajiv Sports Stadium, panchayat buildings, widening of road at Clock Tower here, the minister asked officials concerned to speed up work.
