VIJAYAWADA: Administrative officer of the TTD’s Dharmika Prachara Parishat M. Suryanarayana on Sunday asked bhajan associations to make concerted efforts for successful conduct of the proposed Bhajagovindam programme.

Addressing a meeting of the presidents of local bhajan associations at the TTD kalyanamandapam in Labbipet, Mr. Suryanarayana said the programme, to be organised at the Indira Gandhi Municipal Corporation Stadium on May 31, would create a common platform for devotees of Lord Venkateswara among the poor and the backward sections to collectively sing His praises. Dr. Vedantha Rajagopala Chakravarthy said 10,000 devotees would participate from Krishna district alone, while another 40,000 were expected to join from the neighbouring districts. He said the permission given by the TTD’s governing body to bring to the district the utsav idols of Lord Venkateswara came as a boon to the local population.
