Women trained in Jana Sikshana Sanstan (JSS) launched ‘Mahila Utsav – Yuva Kriti 2013’ in the city on Thursday. The exhibition will continue up to February 4.
In all, 50 women entrepreneurs displayed the products prepared by them in the five-day exhibition, in Madhu Exhibition Hall, at Moghalrajpuram.
Krishna district Youth Welfare Officer V. Subba Rao and Nehru Yuva Kendra Coordinator A. Shiva Kumar inaugurated the show. The officers went round the stalls and interacted with the shop owners.
JSS director Vidya Kanna said that jute bags, ethnic foods, wall hangings, garments, hair oils, honey, embroideries, pickles, and other decoration material were displayed for sale in the expo. The organisation will arrange interaction for women with various government departments and banks, she said. Mr. Subba Rao said the government was providing loans up to Rs.1 lakh for women entrepreneurs on subsidy and asked them to avail themselves of the opportunity. Mr. Shiva Kumar praised the JSS for organising the show, which provides market for women entrepreneurs. Rotary Club assistant governor Narasimham and others attended the programme.
