Event to be performed in a grand manner
Sri Mahavishnu Yagam will be performed in a grand manner in 108 ‘Homa Kundams’ in Tirupati from Dec 3 to 9. It will be conducted at ‘Srihari Dham’, the sprawling ground adjacent to SV Vedic University campus in Alipiri, as it is believed to be the first of the seven hills leading to Tirumala.
The important events are the ‘Saptha Kalyanotsavam’ (seven parallel celestial weddings) and Koti Deepa Aradhana (lighting of one crore oil wick lamps) by Muktinath Peetadhipathi Kamal Nayan Swami Maharaj of Katmandu (Nepal).
As many as twenty Swamijis from places like Sriperumbudur, Ayodhya, Jaipur, Srivilliputtur, Vijayawada, Bangalore etc. will grace the mega ritual.
The event is organised by Vadakarai S.Venkatesa Iyengar, founder of Sri Sudarshana Seva Samithi, Bangalore, along with US-based Dr. Vemuri Satyanarayana.
It may be recalled that Iyengar had performed ‘Sri Venkatesa Mahakrathu and Sudarsana Homams’ daily for one year non-stop on Tirumala hills, way back in 2003-04.
