‘Mahasamprokshanam’ was performed at the temple of Kariya Manikyaswamy on Thursday by Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam (TTD) authorities. The temple is situated in the Nagari town, about 70 km from Tirupati.
The religious sacrament began with the performance of Mahashanti Abhishekam in the morning. After a slew of religious formalities, the ritual came to end with Purnahuti at the Yagasala specially set-up for the purpose. This was followed by the setting-up of ‘Dwajsthambham’ (flag post) which was succeeded by the Dwajarohana mahotsavam.
Kalyanam will be performed at the temple on Friday which will be followed by ‘dwajarohanam’ on the same night marking conclusion of the mega event.
Prominent among others who took part in the festival include the TTD’s Executive Officer L.V. Subramanyam, Joint Executive Officers P. Venkatarami reddy and KS Srinivasa raju, CVSO GVG Ashok kumar, local legislator G. Muddukrishnama naidu and other officials.
