Priests of Sri Varasiddhi Vinayaka Swamy temple at Kanipakam in Chittoor district performed the Sri Maha Ganapathi homam with religious fervour in Sri Mrutyunjayeswara temple here on Friday.
Priests Ramana Sarma and Kapilavai Hanumantha Sarma performed the shodasopachara pooja, doorvayugmam and Ganapathi homam for global peace. The homam was organised by the TTD Dharma Prachara Parishad, Endowments Department and Sri Kanipakam Varasiddhi Vinayaka temple authorities on the arrival of Sri Varasiddhi Vinayaka Dharma Chaitanya Ratham of the famous temple at Kanipakam in Chittoor district carrying the utsava idols of Lord Vinayaka and his consorts Siddhi and Buddhi in Kadapa.
TTD Central Dharmic Advisory Board member Tirumalasetti Srinivasulu said the homam was organised to promote global peace and arouse a spiritual consciousness among people. Kanipakam temple superintendent S.V. Krishna Reddy said the chariot went round Chittoor and Nellore districts and covered 10 mandals in Kadapa so far.
