WARANGAL: Lok Satta candidate for the Warangal (West) Assembly constituency, P. Kodandarama Rao launched a fortnight-long ‘Voter Awareness Yatra’ from the historic Bhadrakali temple here on Thursday.
Mr. Rao proposes go door-to-door covering several colonies and urge people to vote for honesty and integrity. He sought to highlight the amount the State and Central governments were spending on each voter and how the politicians were according least priority to the welfare of the people.
Defying the advancing age and braving the scorching sun, the 65-year-old retired academic went with a group of people knocking the doors of voters in Rangampet, Kakatiya Medical College quarters and Peddammagadda on the first day of his yatra.
Party leaders from Hyderabad and other districts were expected to take part in the yatra each day. Party chief N. Jayaprakash Narayan is expected to attend the programme on the concluding day at Kazipet town to be held after two weeks.
