VUDA has been conducting a special drive for quick disposal of applications
The approval issued under the Layout Regularisation Scheme (LRS) by VUDA grants legal ownership to the plot-holders, according to VUDA Vice-Chairman B. Sreedhar. Hence, the process required was very tough and thorough verification of information provided was necessary, he told the applicants in an interaction with them on Wednesday.
The Planning wing of VUDA has been conducting special drives for quick disposal of the LRS applications and on Wednesday the drive was conducted for applications received from Anakapalle zone. The special drive is meant for enabling the applicants know the status by interacting with the officials concerned and further process for clearance.
Proof of ownership
Mr. Sreedhar directed the officials to provide all the information to the applicants and educate them to fulfil any further requirements for issue of final approvals.
Since the proof of land ownership was the major issue to be checked thoroughly, the process of issuing LRS approval may take some time and only after confirming the genuineness final approvals would be granted, he stated.
However, VUDA was taking steps to speed up the LRS process and the special drives were meant to provide better services to the applicants. Mr. Sreedhar directed the Chief Urban Planner and other officials to be available to the applicants during the drive to attend grievances.
During the special drive on Wednesday, about 550 applications from Anakapalle zone were examined. Chief Urban Planer K. Ananda Babu supervised the drive and the Planning Officer K.D. Brainard coordinated. Officials of the Planning wing B Ramatirtha, L Subrahmanyam, V Ramkumar, D Suseela, M.V.S. Reddy and others participated.
Special drive for LRS applications from Pendurti zone will be held on Thursday and Friday, for Madhurawada zone on March 24 and 25 and for Vizianagaram zone on March 26.
