LPG-ration card link
There are 1.27 crore gas connections in city 15 to 20 lakh consumers not getting gas or kerosene
HYDERABAD: The city BJP leaders have criticised the Government's directive for producing ration cards to avail LPG cylinder facility.
Speaking to mediapersons here on Wednesday, city party president Prem Singh Rathore said that there were 1.27 crore gas connections in city and because of the decision to link ration cards for supply of cooking gas, about 15 to 20 lakh consumers were not getting gas or kerosene supply. "Is it constitutional to link ration cards to supply of gas?" he asked.
The oil companies too were acting as puppets of the Government by insisting on submitting ration card for gas supply, he alleged.
At a time when the Government had not yet issued ration cards to all, imposing this stipulation for supply of LPG was unfair, he said.
The right thing is to identify those with illegal connections but not to subject every one to inconvenience.
