NIZAMABAD: Angered by the accident in which two students of the Srinivas Reddy Institute of Technology (SRIT) were injured when a bus hired by RTC hit their motorbike, students and some locals beat up the driver Sailu and also a vegetable vendor who came to the rescue of the driver at Ankapur village under Armoor police station limits on Friday. Even as the fracas was going on and passengers got down an unidentified person poured fuel on the bus and lit it. As a result, half of the portion of the bus burnt. On being informed the police led by Sub-Inspector B. Srinivas Reddy along with fire fighters rushed to the spot and extinguished the flames.
The injured students Siva Reddy and Suryakiran were admitted to a hospital here. The accident occurred when the bus hired by the RTC Nizamabad depot-II coming from Nirmal dashed the motorbike near Ankapur bus stand.
