WARANGAL: The aspirants who failed to get a ticket and the second rung leaders who were deprived of a nomination in the first term have already started lobbying for a post without wasting time.

With the Cabinet expansion done, they are now hoping that Chief Minister Y. S. Rajasekhara Reddy would give at least a couple of important nominated posts to the district, where the Congress did well. Those who aspire included manifesto committee member Banda Prakash, former SC, ST Commission member Rajarapu Pratap, former Director of Sports Authority of AP Rajanala Srihari, former chairman of the Kakatiya Urban Development Authority, Ch. Srinivasa Reddy, former town Congress committee president Hari Rama Devi. Some of them had enjoyed insignificant posts.

The leaders are trying to impress upon the leadership on the need to get nominated posts. In view of their seniority and their contribution to the party’s success in the recent elections, the leaders were hoping to get the posts under different quotas.

The competition is stiff for the State-level corporations as it comes with perks like solid remuneration. Some of them are equivalent to Cabinet Minister in rank. Several of them were already submitting their resumes.
