‘Real travails of the region will start after the appointed day when the State is bifurcated’

TDP president N. Chandrababu Naidu made an ardent appeal to people to join in his mission of rebuilding Seemandhra from the scratch setting aside political and other emotional issues.

Addressing the Prajagarjana meeting near AIR Station, which is the eighth in the series, here on Friday, Mr. Naidu said the real travails of Seemandhra would start only after the appointed day when the State is bifurcated and Seemandhra is left to fend for itself with a deficit budget.

Biggest challenge

Mr. Naidu tried to explain to people that the region is going to face the biggest challenge since its existence because of the policies of the Congress. The Central Government decided to divide people of the State to weaken a strong State backed by a strong regional party like the Telugu Desam depending on “adopted son” like Jaganmohan Reddy and notional son like K. Chandrasekhar Rao, he alleged

Mr. Chandrasekhar Rao has already given his first shock to the Congress and the next turn is going to be that from Y.S. Jaganmohan Reddy, he said.

In high spirits

Mr. Naidu, who appeared to be high spirits because of the influx of a horde of leaders from the Congress, told the gathering that he is not bothered about the victory of the party but only how to steer the new State without a capital and infrastructure to progress. According to him, the Congress had dug its own grave in Andhra Pradesh and the only job of the people is to see to it that the Congress does not resurrect in the State. “Punish Sonia Gandhi and the Congress for dividing the people who speak single language, violating the principle of linguistic states,” he said.

Earlier, Mr. Naidu, who rode to the venue in an open vehicle greeting people all along the route, took a considerable time to welcome all leaders from other parties by presenting a party shawl.

Among the prominent newly-joined leaders were: T.G. Venkatesh, Erasu Pratap Reddy, Challa Ramakrishna Reddy, Shilpa Mohan Reddy, Labbi Venkata Swamy, K.J. Reddy, Tikka Reddy, Arunakumari and others.

Polit bureau member K.E. Krishna Murthy, his brother K.E. Prabhakar and others were present.
