Members of the Legislative Committees on Wildlife and Environment Protection and Welfare of Scheduled Tribes headed by Assembly Speaker Nadendla Manohar will tour Manuguru, Bhadrachalam and Dummugudem mandals on April 1 and 2.
According to official sources, the members will visit the opencast mines at Manuguru and hold a review meeting with the officials of the Singareni Collieries Company Limited (SCCL), Forest, Revenue, ITDA and other allied departments in the coal town on April 1.
They will interact with the tribal people at Anjubaka village in Dummugudem mandal and later review the implementation of tribal welfare programmes at the ITDA head office in Bhadrachalam on April 2.
Meanwhile, Collector Siddharth Jain held a meeting with the senior officials including heads of various government departments at Kothagudem on Thursday. The meeting chalked out arrangements for the ensuing visit of members of the legislative committees headed by the Speaker to the district on April 1 and 2.
Joint Collector K. Surendra Mohan, ITDA Project Officer G. Veerapandian, Bhadrachalam sub-Collector Narayana Bharath Gupta, Conservator of Forest Anand Mohan and others were present.
