The CPI and CPI(M) have called for people's support to the State bandh called on February 28 in protest against the “anti-people and anti-worker” policies of the Central and the State Governments.
The economic policies of the Central Government threatened the livelihood of a huge number of workers in the unorganized sector.
The privatisation of public sector enterprises would throw millions of workers out of their jobs.
Development of agriculture sector was not on the agenda of the Governments, which preferred to extend red-carpet welcome to capitalists, they said.
People's support is needed for the Left parties to exert pressure on the Governments to take back such policies in the larger interest of the nation, CPI(M) district secretary D. Rama Devi stated in a press release.
