TDP Polit Bureau member K. Yerrannaidu on Saturday said changes should be brought in law to prevent unnecessary by-elections.

Speaking to reporters here, he said: “By-elections are normally held when a sitting member dies. The present round of elections has been forced on people by parties with vested interests,” he said, and underlined the need for a debate for bringing in suitable amendments to prevent such elections. He exuded the confidence that the TDP would fair well in the by-elections.

Terming the Union budget as “anti-people,” he said the party would expose the failures of the UPA government before the people.

Seeking the resignation of six Ministers, who were served notices by the Supreme Court, he accused Chief Minister N. Kiran Kumar Reddy of shielding the Ministers.
