Prominent industrialist Lavu Venkateswarulu passed away here in the early hours of Thursday.
Hailing from Pedanandipadu village, Mr. Venkateswarulu forayed into fertilizer trade before launching a ginning factory in Prathipadu. He moved to Guntur in the year 1972 and quickly made a name for himself in the cotton export circles.
Mr. Venkateswarulu is survived by his son, Lavu Nageswara Rao, who is a former additional solicitor general in the Supreme Court. Among the prominent people who paid their last respects were Lavu Rathaiah, Chairman of Vignan Group, former minister Alapati Rajendra Prasad, DIG of CID, E. Damodar, MLC Rayapati Srinivas, former MLA N. Subhani, YSRCP City president Lella Appireddy.
