HYDERABAD: The last rites of the architect from Hyderabad, B. Kameswara Sharma, 45, and his wife, Jyotsna, 36, who drowned in a beach at Goa on Monday, were performed here on Tuesday at Punjagutta graveyard.
The couple, along with their six-year-old twins, Nikhil and Nisha, and four other families, went for a week-long trip to Goa.
Fifteen of them, including the children, were playing in the beach waters when a huge wave pulled them inside.
Locals and municipal workers rescued them and shifted them to the nearby hospital where Sharma and Jyotsna were declared brought dead.
The bodies were brought to Hyderabad in the morning. Sharma’s family members said the others, who were rescued from the beach waters, were critical and were being treated in Goa.
