The two-day laksha rudraksha abhisheka archana began on a grand note at Sri Kasi Visweswara Annapoorna devasthanam here on Wednesday.
Devotees turned up in good numbers to take part in the rudrabhishekam and other poojas. The rituals began with ganapathi pooja, punyahavachana, goupooja, panchagavya prasana.
The priests decorated the rudrakshas in the shape of a siva lingam in the mandapam of the temple. Later, they performed archana to sata kasalalu, one sacred jars.
The lakshmi ganapathi sahita rudra homam began, and the environs echoed with chanting of names of lord siva. In the evening, the temple management performed rudra trisathi nama archana, and lalita trisathi nama archana. Temple management committee member Appana Venkata Satya Saibabu said that mahanyasaka poorvaka satakalasa sahita ekadasa rudrabhishekam would be performed on Thursday.
Later, laksha rudrabhishekam would be performed to Sri Kasi Visweswara swamy. Sri Ramananda Teertha swamy of Bangalore, Sri Kameswarananda Bharati Swamy of Vijayawada, and Sri Satyananda Bharati Swamy of Gannavaram would take part in the ritual, and distribute the rudrakshas to devotees on Thursday, he said.
