HYDERABAD: Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy on Thursday inaugurated Lake View Park at Khairatabad and laid foundation stone for Road Over Bridge at Sanjeevaiah Park. Both the projects are taken up by the Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA).

The Lake View Park has been developed in the area adjacent to Khairatabad flyover which once was used for garbage dumping and grazing of cattle.

An area of 17.5 acres was protected and maintained as part of Hussainsagar lake and developed with walkways along the peripheries of the water body. About 9,000 plants of both aquatic and terrestrial species have been planted all along the pond to improve the bio-diversity and also reduce pollution levels of this area. The ROB at Sanjeevaiah Park for which the foundation stone was laid is aimed at facilitating direct access for traffic from Necklace Road to NTR Statue junction avoiding busy intersections such as Begumpet, Greenlands and Punjagutta.
