Officials asked to complete land acquisition in certain pockets
KURNOOL: Collector G. Balaramaiah reviewed the progress of work on various irrigation projects in Kurnool district on Tuesday.
Engineers, contractors and revenue officials involved in land acquisition attended the meeting. The meeting was organised in the wake of the strong protest by the MLAs over the delay at District Review Committee meeting recently. The engineers brought to the notice of the Collector the delay in land acquisition in certain pockets under SRBC, Hundri Neeva and KC Canal projects.
The Collector asked the revenue officials to complete the land acquisition process early. He also asked the contractors and irrigation officials to speed up the work.The Collector asked the officials to take measures on a war-footing to rebuild Cherlopalli near Owk. The Owk reservoir would be filled this year to its capacity. The old village would be submerged completely, he said.
The officials told the Collector that out of 909 families, 739 were sanctioned new houses and 672 were nearing completion. Collector asked the officials to complete the school building, health centre, anganwadi centre, community hall, bus stand and temple.
Of 80 acres of land, 66 acres was given to families and common facilities were being created on 20 acres. Sarpanch Madduleti was present.
