MACHILIPATNAM: The long wait of the Krishna University to have at least 200 acres of land for developing a permanent campus came to a partial end on Wednesday, when the revenue authorities handed over orders alienating 44.92 acres in Guduru village of the same mandal. The land is located about 5 km. from Machilipatnam on the highway towards Vijayawada.

The advance possession orders were issued by Guduru Tahsildar M. Elisha Rao, in respect of the land spread over revenue survey numbers 443/3 and 393/1 for “construction of buildings”. The letter was handed over to the Registrar of the University. Vice-Chancellor M.K. Durga Prasad said that the land allotted had all facilities like good soil texture, water, power and was also located close to the town.

He thanked the Chief Minister, district collector, district revenue officer, revenue divisional officer and the people's representatives for making this possible.
