Bishop of Vijayawada to conduct the prayers

  • Rally to be taken out from St. Peter's Cathedral at 8 a.m.
  • Special buses to be arranged for devotees

    VISAKHAPATNAM: The annual festival of the Shrine of Our Lady of Sorrows at Kondadaba in Kothavalasa will be held on Saturday and Sunday.

    According to Rev. Fr. Joseph Anithottam of the Roman Catholic Church, the festivities already began on January 26 in the presence of the Vicar General and Rector of St. Ann's Minor Seminary from Bheemunipatnam.

    Daily prayers were being organised, and on Saturday morning, a huge rally would be taken out from the St. Peter's Cathedral in Gnanapuram at 8 a.m.


    It would reach the Kondadaba church around 4 p.m. where Bishop of Vijayawada Mallavarapu Prakash would conduct the prayers.

    On Sunday morning, Archbishop of Visakhapatnam Kagithapu Mariadas, Bishops Prakash and Charles Sorang (Hazaribagh, Jharkhand), Maicharla Jesudas from Anaparthi and Puvvala Jeevanbabu from S. Kota would attend the programme.

    Special buses were being arranged from S. Kota, Vizianagaram, Visakhapatnam, and Kothavalasa for pilgrims, Fr. Anithottam said.
