TIRUMALA: ‘Koil Alwar Thirumanjanam’ was performed on Tuesday at the hill temple of Lord Venkateswara amidst religious fervour. The festival was performed as a prelude to the annual ‘Ani Vara Asthanam’ scheduled for Wednesday.
About 450 employees participated in the cleansing festival under the stewardship of the TTD Executive officer K. V. Ramanachary and the temple priests. A paste of sandalwood powder mixed with refined camphor and other ingredients were applied to the walls and pillars inside the sanctum sanctorum including all the sub-temples inside the temple complex.
