Senior TDP leader Kodela Sivaprasada Rao appealed to the Central Government to not divide the State as otherwise the consequences would be serious and asserted that nearly six-and-half crore people were against bifurcation.

The State had plunged into uncertainty due to arousing of regional feelings by some political parties.

The Congress would pay a heavy price in future if it eventually decided to concede Statehood to Telangana.

Addressing media persons here on Monday, Mr. Sivaprasada Rao said there are districts in Telangana which are well developed and backward areas too, just like in Seemandhra which is not entirely prosperous as the protagonists of Telangana claimed.
