Chief Minister N. Kiran Kumar Reddy will tour districts up to April 17 to launch at local level the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes sub-plans named Indiramma Kalalu.
He inaugurated the programme in West Godavari and Khammam districts on April 5, the 106 birth anniversary day of Babu Jagjivan Ram, and he will do so in Nellore and Chittoor districts on Ambedkar Jayanti on Sunday.
After taking a break on Monday, Mr. Reddy will visit Srikakulam and Vizianagaram on Tuesday to formally launch at district level, Amma Hastham, a new scheme grounded on Ugadi day to supply nine essential commodities in a packet to white cardholders at subsided prices. He will undertake a trip to Krishna district on Wednesday for the same purpose.
An official said the present plan of the Chief Minister was to cover a majority of the districts before the re-commencement of the budget session of the Legislature in May, explaining the new scheme to people.
According to a tentative programme released by the Chief Minister’s Office here on Saturday, he will launch Indiramma Kalalu at Pedda Harijanwada at Karvetinagar village in Chittoor district on Sunday morning, after reaching there by helicopter from his native village Kalikiri. Later he will participate in Ambedkar Jayanti celebrations and address a public meeting there.
The Chief Minister will then go to Kotapollur in Sullurpet mandal of Nellore district and interact with members of SCs and STs before addressing a public meeting.
The same day, he will return to Hyderabad by helicopter via Renigunta.
