Chief Minister N. Kiran Kumar Reddy will participate in the ongoing Prajapatham programme in Kadapa district on April 21, his first visit to the district after he took over the reigns in the State, Minister for Minority Welfare Mohd. Ahmedullah said.

Mr. Reddy will participate in Prajapatham at Rayachoti, the Minister told newsmen at the State guest house here. Meanwhile, District Collector V. Anil Kumar said that the Chief Minister will address a public meeting at Railway Kodur on April 21 and participate in Prajapatham in Rajampet. Later, he will inaugurate the College of Horticulture constructed at a cost of Rs.10 crore, polytechnic in Obulavaripalle and R&B road in Pullampet, the Collector said.

Mr. Ahmedullah has asserted that the Congress will win Rayachoti, Rajampet and Railway Kodur Assembly seats in the ensuing by-election and the party would field candidates that have winning chances. The Congress high command has never directed the party rank and file to campaign against former Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy in elections, he said. If it gives such a direction, partymen would take a decision depending on circumstances prevailing then, he added.

He assured efforts to mitigate drinking water shortage in Kadapa by fixing additional motors to draw water from the Pennar river bed. Congress MLA of Kamalapuram G. Veerasiva Reddy was present.
