Chief Minister N. Kiran Kumar Reddy who stayed overnight at Tirumala after participating in the centenary celebrations of the district, offered prayers at the temple of Lord Venkateswara on Saturday morning.
On his arrival at the temple complex he was accorded a warm reception by the TTD's Specified Authority (SA) chairman J. Satyanarayana, Executive Officer I.Y.R. Krishna Rao, JEO K. Bhaskar, Tirupati Urban district Superintendent of Police Ravindra
According to sources the Chief Minister enquired with the TTD officials about the serious allegations being levelled by the temple priests and wondered as to what drove them to indulge in such a hasty act besides instructing them to strictly abide by the TTD rules and court directions as the issue is still pending in the court of law.
The Sri Lanka President, Mahinda Rajapaksa, who is at Tirumala on a two-day visit offered prayers at the temple of Lord Venkateswara for the second time on Saturday.
Later, he motored down to Renigunta from where he flew to Mumbai to watch India-Sri Lanka World Cup final match.
